Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 titles have been earned on hardcourt
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his first trophy for over two years with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.
The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has had a challenging year, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.
The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in particular - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and finally separating with long-time trainer Cervara.
Now working with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a tightly fought three-set win over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's initial title since the Rome competition and first on a hard surface since March of 2023.
The win also indicates the Russian has won twenty-one victories at twenty-one various events.
"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my both daughters together, so to secure a title is particularly special," stated ranked player the champion.
"This victory is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my first daughter her name was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his last six championship matches, including in the German tournament earlier this year.
His counter-punching strategy and frequent reactions on court had led some to doubt if his ability to perform at the top level was over.
Yet the athlete has altered his approach in the last few weeks, attempting to approach the net and perform positively, reinforced by an improved serve.
The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult Frenchman, securing four of the final five points to go ahead.
The competitors exchanged service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to force a decider.
The opponent rescued four early-game opportunities in a competitive third set before the champion secured a break to 15 to secure the win.
Fittingly, Medvedev clinched the win with a shot at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
